EXT. MADISON IN AUTUMN - NIGHT
Here is a video that was shot and edited by Nathan Clarke, owner of Fourth Line Films.
He recently held a workshop in Madison on the new trend of shooting HD video with DSLR cameras. When asked about this project, he said "I went out at night twice (I wish it was a little more windy when I went.) The first time, I focused on trees, but I found after a while that traffic could get some cool results. So the second time, I did some tree shots, but also tried to set up some interesting street scenes." Enjoy.
Camera: Canon 5D mark II (DSLR)
Equipment: Tripod
Approach: Taking a series of stills as fast as the shutter can move.
Details: ISO was at 3200; shutter speed was usually around 1/30th.

OK Go - End Love
Check out this fantastic new video from OK Go, for their track "End Love". 21 hours shot in a single take - once again proving you don't need crazy technical skills to create brilliant work, just a good idea and the patience to see it through. Amazing!

Missing Pages; a movie reminiscent of La Jetée
Inspired from the 1962 French short film La Jetée, writer/director Jerome Olivier has created a hauntingly innovative approach to narrative filmmaking.
It is the “story-telling”, not just the story, that makes Missing Pages distinct. The entire film, which runs 24 minutes, has been shot using a digital still camera. The images were then composited in three-dimensional layers, and virtual cameras were used to move through them, with many, many stylish techniques — a process the filmmakers dub “fotomation”.
Enjoy.

Here is a podcast w/ the director, Jerome Olivier, about creating the story, the look and post-production.

Street art disaster at its best
One word can often represent the most simple and beautiful of a design media. In the media that is graffiti art, that word is Banksy. The art prankster of the world has dazzled us, marking his territory in some of the largest cities. With his distinctive stenciling technique, as well as his political art stunts, he IS the face, or at least the voice of the underground graffiti world. Check out the trailer for his new film that is being called "the world's first street art disaster movie."
