Guest Speaker - Duncan Raunio, Discover Mediaworks

2 years ago, Duncan was a student at MMI in the REC department.
When he graduated, he found himself working full-time at Barnes and Noble, no where near the recording industry that he imagined himself in.
Enter: Discover Mediaworks (DMW)
Duncan took the opportunity that was offered to him, even though it wasn't in the recording industry; an internship with DMW.
Since taking the internship, he's been hired as a full-time employee, working in their web development department.




Duncan Raunio will be here to discuss life pre and post MMI, as well as what to expect working at a creative company.

Artist Fellowship Awards

NOTIFICATION: The Wisconsin Arts Board FY11 Artist Fellowship Awards eGRANT application form is now open. Please go to http://artsboard.wisconsin.gov and click on “Grant Programs” to locate the program. The Artist Fellowship Awards page is your information center for this program. When you are ready to login to the eGRANT system, click on the eGRANT link found on the Artist Fellowship page. Before working on the application, be sure to review the guidelines. Note that the applicant to this particular grant program must be AN Individual ARTIST, not an organization.

Here are some common eGRANT application mistakes to avoid:

- Data entered in all upper or lower case: Some applicants enter their name and address info, as well as other data, in all upper or lower case. Please don’t do this. Capitalize the first letter of your name as you would in a normal sentence.

- Waiting too long to begin the process: START EARLY! Help calls increase dramatically as the due date approaches. We are a small agency and may not be able to assist you with problems if you wait until the due date to begin your application.

Note that the deadline IS 3PM on the due date. However, when you log in, the deadline time will appear as 3:59:59 PM because the eGRANT servers are located in the Eastern Time zone. The submission time is 3PM so staff can be in the office to assist applicants working up to the deadline.

These communications are sent via e-mail only. It is vital that we have your current e-mail address at all times. It is your responsibility to keep the Arts Board informed of changes in your e-mail address. We will not be able to inform you of future grant opportunities without this information.
